General integration course
The general integration course consists of 7 modules of 100 lessons of 45 minutes each. The first six modules are dedicated to language training and each represents a language level – from A1.1 to B1.2 – according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The 7th module is the orientation course designed to provide participants with previous knowledge of German history and culture.
Through active participation in the general integration course you first acquire elementary language skills (A1/A2) in order to expand these further in the course of the course and finally – after the 7 modules – reach the intermediate level (B1/B2).
In this way, you can learn the German language within one year to such an extent that you can understand your fellow human beings in all essential areas of life and situations of everyday life, such as education, housing, work or health, and can communicate actively and successfully yourself.
After the language training in the general integration course, your language level is proven with the “Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer” (DTZ) examination. Upon successful completion of the DTZ, you will receive a certificate certifying your language skills at competence levels A2 or B1.
After completing all 7 modules, the general integration course ends with the two tests “Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer” (DTZ) and “Leben in Deutschland” (LiD).
